Electrical Engineering
About the Department
The electrical engineering program started in 1967 along with the opening of the university. The program is one of the main engineering programs back then. The main purposed at the beginning was to give an opportunity for the local to enhance their education and to be part of the main workforce to build an infrastructure locally. Since then, the electrical engineering program has been evolving according to the technological advance, additional rules and regulations and various business opportunities. The program has been updated every five years. The current program has been used since 2021. The electrical engineering program is a 4-year program. We offer an integrated learning in basic knowledges in basic sciences, mathematics and basic electrical engineering core subjects. The program philosophy is to enhance student learning through an active learning through various activities including self-directed learning. This direction leads to a sustainable life-long learning ability of the graduates. Finally, the program is also certified by the Council of Engineers allowing graduates to apply for a certificate of occupational engineering from the Council of Engineers.
